Lunchtime talk on Wiltshire metal detectoring at Wiltshire Heitage Museum

The lunchtime talk this month will be given by Dave Crisp, finder of the Frome Hoard and member of the Trowbridge Metal Detecting Club.

He will touch on the items found by metal detectorists, conservation, the recording of items with the Portable Antiquities Scheme, the new 1996 Treasure law (which applies to everybody) and why they believe they are helping to save our heritage.

This talk complements the Museum’s current exhibition
Detecting Wiltshire’s Past: An exhibition of finds by the Trowbridge Metal Detecting Club, recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme.

Lunchtime Talks start at 1.10pm and last approx. 45 minutes. Bring your lunch - we will provide tea/coffee.

The talks take place in the Museum's Lecture Hall which is air-conditioned, has a hearing loop system and can be accessed via a lift.

Booking is not required - just come along on the day - Cost:  £4 (£3 WANHS members)
